NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo 2012 has begun!  I have begun to write my third novel!  This one is different from the first two.  My spousal unit is upset because I keep writing novels that beg sequels but I haven't written any sequels yet.  Maybe next year.  Maybe not.  It may take a couple of more years before I get to writing sequels.  I have also challenged him to write the sequels and I will make sure he stays within the parameters I have set for the galaxy/planet/city.  Options, always options. :)

the mistake

I made the mistake of trying to discuss a topic with religious fanatics today.  There's a reason why you shouldn't do that.  I have to laugh though when the intolerant wonder why the tolerant are intolerant of them.  That's because if someone who is tolerant actually tolerates the intolerant, then trouble ensues.  We have the intolerant then thinking they can take over because the tolerant will just sit back and not do anything.  We, the tolerant, have an obligation to be intolerant of intolerance.  We also have an obligation to attempt to reduce the ignorance of those who are intolerant.

Father Sun, Mother Earth

Father Sun is nudging Mother Earth awake;
when Mother Earth awakens, she will shake herself
as a dog shakes off water;
God will blink;
and Humans will become a bad dream.

the Puritans are coming!  the Puritans are coming!  Actually, they are already here.  If we don't kick them out, the US will crash and burn.  The environment will become unhabitable.  And the rich will be scratching their heads wondering what happened.  Money is not everything.  The love of money is the root of all evil.  Hoarding money is what I call "love of money."  People do not seem to realize that this planet is finite.  It doesn't matter what our grandparents did; we have twice the number of people on this planet from what our grandparents had.  We have polluted far more; we have cut down far more forests; we have destroyed far more.  Unless someone can tell me where the market is to buy a new planet, then humans are being really stupid and short-sighted by destroying this one.  It isn't so much destroying this planet.  Earth will continue on without us.  Earth will simply be unhabitable by humans.  Or as one of my zoology professors said, Humans are not the next step in evolution.  Humans are the catalyst that clears the stage for the next step in evolution.

Earthquakes in Papua New Guinea

The sun has gone really quiet and now the earthquakes are more numerous.  What is concerning me is the number of earthquakes that are occurring at the edge of the Solomon plate near Papua New Guinea.  That little plate is a subduction zone and it has been very active lately.  The earthquakes have been deep and are in what looks like a trench on the north side of the land that has the capital.

I am seriously worried about the world.  Humans are not paying attention to what is being done to the environment.  Nature is very egalitarian.  When the pandemic(s) strike(s), it won't care if you are rich, poor, old, young, or where you live.  The earth and fire dragons are awakening, partially due to fracking.  I do what I can to care for the environment, to be the custodian according to my beliefs.

I was thinking about a statement I had heard.  "Thwarting God's Will."  How does a human thwart God's will?  Would not that make the human more powerful than the most powerful entity in the Universe?  God is all-powerful, all-seeing, has existed since before Time, knows what everything/one will do long before it is done.  He/She/It set up the laws of the universe; evolution, plate tectonics, processes.  How could one thwart the will of such an entity?  I propose that it is impossible.  He/She/It gave us free will.  But that doesn't mean our thoughts/plans/actions are unknown.

First Time Outside

I am still working on the first rewrite which is I am hoping to be the most massive one.  I am trying to get up to three rewrites done with this one massive one.  So far, I have added 15,000 words and I am only halfway done with the chapters.  So, I am right on track.  This first rewrite should be about 75,000 words.  The novel is on track to being 100,000 words long when all the rewrites are done.  And I am enjoying the story now that I am slowing down the speeding bullet to a far more sedate speed.
